Oversharely, episode 1: Where is it now?
(formerly Wingman360)
· 0:58
An engineer drags an export-restricted flight control system description into Oversharely, a fictional consumer chatbot, and asks for its single points of failure. The film follows the file out of the building to a datacenter abroad. Then the same question to Lavionic Teammate on the company's own server: the data never leaves the building.
Transcript
Inspired by real events.
[An engineer drags MT-9_FCC_System_Description_RevC.pdf, stamped "CONTROLLED - EXPORT RESTRICTED", into Oversharely, whose tagline reads "Ask anything. Upload everything."]
He types: "List the single points of failure in this system description." and presses Enter.
[The file leaves the laptop: through the office network rack, along a fibre at the speed of light, past a street cabinet and a cable landing station on the coast, down a datacenter aisle, out over a datacenter campus.]
That file just left the company.
Where is it now?
There is another way.
[The journey rewinds. The same desk, the same file and the same question, this time to Lavionic Teammate.]
[The request goes down the office network cable, along a corridor, to a server in the company's own server room with a Lavionic Teammate nameplate on its front.]
Same question.
Your data never left the building.
